unique to Chesterton, 1727 multi-Lon® is a synthetic packaging designed specifically for public service pump applications. This can provide the same performance as synthetic with asbestos flexibility. Unlike the first generation of synthetic packaging, Multi-Lon does not suffer from limitations that prevent the use of public services. Multi-Lon consists of interwoven, continuous, synthetic thermoset fibers immunized with PTFE lubricants and special silicone free, breaks in, lubricating victims
Chesterton 1727 Multi-Lon
- Unlike many synthetic threads, it doesn't cause severe scoring
- Does not cause electrolyte pitting such as carbon or graphite yarn
- Does not have shaft speed limitations or extended / extrusion problems are often associated with PTFE fiber yarns

- Temperature limit: 255 ̊ C (488 ̊ F) non oxidizing
- Limit pressure: 15 bar g (200 psig)
- Shaft Speed: 10 m / s (2000 fpm)
- Chemical resistance: pH 1 to 13
Almost unaffected by non-oxidizing acids, dilute bases, organic solvents should not be used in sulfate concentration (> 60%), or nitric acid (> 10%), or strong bases
